Fifty Shades Darker opens on Friday, which means it's almost time to see Christian's abs, hot legs, and his pommel horse trick. Until then, please feast your eyes on an exciting new clip Universal released over the weekend. It features another important part of the second book: the confrontation between Ana and Mrs. Robinson that takes place shortly after (~*minor spoiler alert*~) Christian and Ana's engagement announcement. If the movie stays true to the book, this scene happens moments before Ana throws her lemon martini in Elena’s face (what a waste, TBH). There are intense stares, a fierce pearl necklace, and a shade of red lipstick so dark (I know) one must wonder what magic makeup remover Dakota Johnson used after shooting that scene.
Speaking of pearls, it appears that they are a major part of Elena’s wardrobe in Darker. She also wears them when she’s fixing up Christian’s jacket with Ana nervously watching at the hair salon.
Bonus: Jamie Dornan says Christian is “still tied up with her” when talking about his history with Mrs. Robinson. It’s unclear if Jamie was instructed to make such a lovely pun, but I am forever grateful for it.
