In the midst of all the Royal Wedding drama, an unlikely hero has stepped up to the plate to intervene — John Cena. While guest co-hosting The Today Show with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb yesterday, NBC's royal correspondent, Keir Simmons, asked John if he'd be willing to be a referee for the showdown that will be these nuptials.

“Hey John — this wedding, we’re going to have the Royals, we’re going to have Diana’s family, the Spencers, now we’re going to have the Markle family," Keir said. "I think we may need you here, my man, to intervene.”

John laughed, and responded by saying, “It seems like there is some drama that is in need of a special guest referee."

Then, Kathie Lee said to John, “She is in need of someone to give her away, isn’t she? Who better than you?”

“I can hop on a plane, I can get there in a few days,” he responded with a laugh. FYI, John canceled his own wedding to Nikki Bella about four weeks ago.

When it came out earlier this week that those pictures of Thomas Markle Sr. reading picture books of England were fake and posed for money, he reportedly decided to skip the royal wedding out of embarrassment. Then, it was reported that the'd had a heart attack and wouldn't be able to attend.

Then, he changed his mind about attending, saying he really wanted to be there to witness the history. But THEN, last night, it was confirmed that he wouldn't attend because he has to have heart surgery.

"The queen is inside Buckingham Palace right behind me, and I suspect banging her head against the wall," Keir said.

Like, same though.
