1. They have different parenting styles. “Brad has traditional parenting skills — thinks the kids need structure [like] bedtimes, consistent schooling,” a source tells Entertainment Tonight. On the flip side, Angelina has always been “much more freeform” and is not a fan of setting boundaries. An Us Weekly source supports this claim, noting that parenting was a main source of their fights. “She did try to make it work, but her kids come first and she couldn’t let them see mommy and daddy like this.”
2. “Old Brad is back.” Contrary to his parenting, Brad prefers to be “totally carefree and easygoing,” according to an ET source, who adds that those who worked with Brad in July said “the old Brad is back.” What does this mean? “Back to the aloof Brad,” notes the source. “It was a working trip but he was making the most out of his free time. He was going out to lunch, walking around.” The source says Brad was going against Angelina’s “tight ship,” which she has operated “for years.”
3. Brad’s a pothead and likes to drink. According to one TMZ source, Angie’s been “fed up” with Brad’s consumption of weed and “possibly” alcohol.
4. Brad has “an anger problem.” The same TMZ source says Angie views Brad's anger issues, combined with his drugs and alcohol consumption, as a danger to their children.
5. Marion Cotillard. Angelina hired a private eye to spy on Brad and his Allied co-star Marion Cotillard after believing that the pair had been having an affair, according to a stunning Page Six report. One source says Brad was also “partying like a single guy on a mission” during his alleged affair. TMZ has since quoted a source who says there has never been a “third person” and that Angie’s divorce filing was based on Brad’s interactions with their kids.
6. Brad got too close to some Russian hookers, maybe. According to the same Page Six report, this is what Brad did when the cameras weren’t rolling on his World War II drama (which was shot in London). “The atmosphere was full of hard drugs and Russian hookers, and Angie was told Brad got caught up in it.”
7. Brad is having a midlife crisis. Again, from Page Six: “He’s in the throes of some insane midlife crisis, and Angie is fed up.”
8. There was an “incident.” This is a vague one but here it goes: Us Weekly’s source says Angelina only made the final divorce decision one week ago because of “an incident” that took place. Of course, there are no further details about the incident, except that whatever happened “affected the entire family.”
9. Selena Gomez. This one’s from the National Enquirer, so take it with a huge grain of Himalayan pink salt. In January, Selena and Brad had a little chat at the Golden Globe Awards. She even 'grammed the moment and later told E! that they talked about The Big Short (which they both starred in) and “how he thought it was really cool and his kids loved it.”
An Enquirer source said in February that Angie “blew a gasket when she saw Selena’s Instagram, and heard through friends about how Brad and Selena flirted so shamelessly.” The same source adds that Selena is “bragging” about how Brad is on board to make another movie together and has been calling him “my future husband.” See? Salt.
10. Brad flirted with the nanny. Again. Salt. Another National Enquirer source claims that the Jolie-Pitt nanny was fired months before Angelina filed for divorce. “[It] became obvious this nanny was flirting around with him and being a little too friendly,” according to the source, who added that the nanny was “always” at the pool when Brad was at the pool. Apparently, this nanny has also seen Brad in a towel so make of that what you will.
11. Brad gets along with Jon Voight. And according to yet another Page Six source, this has been a problem for Angie, who’s been estranged from her famous father. “Brad hangs out with her father more than she does,” the source says.
12. Angelina wants to focus on her politics. In June, Us Weekly reported that in an effort to ramp up her political career, Angie wanted to sell the family’s 1,200-acre Chateau Miraval (which, fun fact, produces wine that you can now buy at Costco). “She wants to sell Chateau Miraval and Brad refuses,” according to one source, who added that Angie has “turned her back on Hollywood.” The Daily Mail published excerpts from Us Weekly’s piece and noted that Angie had been working closely with British House of Lords member Arminka Helic and teaching at the London School of Economics. Selling the property would allow Angie to spruce up her political profile, the Daily Mail pointed out, as only tax-paying British residents are allowed in the House of Lords.
13. Their sex life was done. Radar Online has an insider saying that after six kids, Brangelina were “barely even having sex at the end.” ET’s source echoes this with a claim that Brad and Angelina “haven’t slept in the same bed” in the last year. “When they were in New York City the last time together, they had separate rooms and were on their own schedules.”
14. The power of Jennifer Aniston. “Pals” of Jennifer tell the New York Post that the actress “always knew that this day would come.” The same source adds, “She’s probably having a margarita with Courteney Cox right now.”
