The next time you can't find a corkscrew during wine night with your gal pals, don't worry — these "corkscrew nails" definitely will come in handy! (I'm kidding – please don't try doing this.)

Kira Sky Nail Products created the coil design through a very intricate process. First, the artist paints the nail with acrylic, shaping it into a slight point. Then, a small piece of plastic straw is positioned underneath the tip of the nail and left to dry. After that, the artist uses glitter acrylic to build a spiral around the straw, using a small brush for precision. Once the shape is created, he or she paints it with clear polish for protection. After everything dries, the straw is removed using tweezers, and the shape is cleaned up with an electric file. BOOM! You have a corkscrew mani. The artist finished this specific look with pale blue lacquer and small rhinestones, but those are just extras to an already extra look.

Are they impractical? Yes. A little bizarre? Of course. Still weirdly mesmerizing to watch? Absolutely.

The style is a slightly different take on last year's popular "unicorn nails." Both are made by shaping acrylic, but while the unicorn version resembles a horn on top of the nail bed, the corkscrew nails are shaped in a coil completely off the nail tip. Texting (or using your hands in general, for that matter) might be a little hard, sure — but hey, it's all for the sake of a ~cool~ and ~unique~ trend, right?

If you find yourself wondering how in the world you ended up watching corkscrew nails, you're in luck! The full tutorial video is below.
