Applebee's must feel your pain, because the chain just announced its adding a $1 cocktail to its menu all month long — and this one tastes like a tropical getaway in a glass.
The DOLLARMAMA (yes, all caps is their styling, just to subtly underscore what a big deal this is) hits menus on Feb. 1. If the name didn't give it away, it's the restaurant's take on a Bahama Mama, featuring a mix of white rum, pineapple, orange, and lime juices, as well as coconut and cherry flavors. Basically, it's the beach vacation you dream of taking when you don't have the funds to watch a beachy movie, let alone hop on a plane for a full getaway.
This promotion comes after a string of other monthly $1 cocktail deals: You may recall the $1 margaritas in October and the $1 Long Island Iced Teas in December.
Applebee's is selling the DOLLARMAMA all day long, all February long, for a buck apiece. Suddenly, an 8 a.m. cocktail is almost socially acceptable — after all, it's cheaper than a latte.
