Whether you watched One Tree Hill when it first aired on the WB back in 2003, or when it moved to the CW, or now on Netflix, no generation of viewers is impervious to the charms of lead character Lucas Scott. After all, he's a smoldering-hot basketball star who also happens to be totally in touch with his feelings and write books.
Speaking of books, raise your hand if you've always wanted to read one of the character's novels. 🙋🙋🙋 Who wouldn't? An Unkindness of Ravens and The Comet clearly were literary masterpieces!
Well, get ready to celebrate, bookworm Lucas stans. Chad Michael Murray, the actor who played Lucas on the series, is becoming an author in real life.
Us Weekly reports that Chad has co-authored an adventure-thriller-romance novel called American Drifter. Apparently it follows the story of a U.S. soldier who is backpacking through Rio de Janeiro.
"American Drifter's romance was inspired by a dream I had," Chad explained in the article. "The dream had played out so vividly, as if I was a fly on the wall watching this tale go down. Also, at that time, I had been searching for a story that would resonate with the youth of the world in a way that would make us feel the light and excitement for adventure."
Ummmm ... he's literally Lucas.
The only downside is that fans will have to wait awhile for a copy of Lucas Chad's book — American Drifter comes out on November 7, 2017.
Still, it's already been four years since the show was canceled. What's another 12 months to a true One Tree Hill fan? We can feel the light and excitement already.
